Visual Diary: Lost in Osaka
After the chaos of Tokyo, the ride through the countryside felt like exhaling. Even Kyoto, tourists and all was calm in comparison.
Osaka? Different story.
I rolled in late afternoon. By the time I dropped my bag, the city had flipped the switch. Osaka wakes up at night. Loud, condensed, hungry. It hit all at once: lights, tourists, menus yelling at me from every angle. Sensory overload… in a good way.
I based myself near Ogimachi Station, a local pocket with a slower heartbeat. No tour buses. Convenience stores, corner shops, parents on bikes with kids. That’s when the plan changed: ditch the checklist. Pick random stations. Get off. Walk. Let the camera do the choosing.
Here’s what I found while getting lost in Osaka.
